 - 2008 -

 In March, Dr. Nicely attended the The University of Toledo Department of Neurology 6th Annual Neuroscience Research Day on Brain Substrates of Drug Dependence, Tolerance and Addiction, in Toledo. 

In March, Drs. Nicely, Reetz and Smitley attended the 8th Annual Douglas Ullman Conference on Children's Mental Health at Bowling Green State University. Dr. Mary Fristad, Ohio State University, spoke on Recognizing Symptoms of Mania and Depression in Children.  

In April, Dr. Ncely attended the The University of Toledo/Toledo Bar Association    8th Annual Henry L. Hartman Foresic Psychiatry Conference Assessment of Sexual Offenders, in Toledo    .

In February, Dr. Smitley attended a conference sponsored by the Florida Psychological Association entitled Transference, Relationship, and Self-Psychology presented by David Peters, Ph.D. in Sarasota, FL.

In March, Dr. Muehleisen attended a conference titled Scared Stiff: Fast Effective Treatment for Anxiety Disorders, presented by David Burns, M.D. and sponsored by the Institute for the Advancement of Human Behavior, Cincinnati. Ohio.

In March, Dr. Smitley attended a conference at Bowling Green State University, entitled Attachment and Trauma in Young Children presented by Neil Boris, M.D., in Bowling Green, OH. 

In April, Dr. Smitley attended a two-day mediation training conference entitled Domestic Abuse Issues: Training for Mediators  and Other Professionals, sponsored by the Supreme Court of Ohio, in Lima, OH.

In July, Dr. Muehleisen attended a symposium titled Resolving Chronic Disputes, presented by Kenneth Cloke, J.D. and sponsored by the Cape Cod Institute in Eastham, MA.

In February, Dr. Nicely attended the Sixth Annual Douglas G. Ullman Conference sponsored by the Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.

In February, Dr. Greene Bush completed independent study titled Understanding Terrorism: Psychological Roots, Consequences, and Interventions, sponsored by the American Psychological Association.

In March, Dr. Greene Bush attended a conference titled Club Drugs: Trendy Drugs of Abuse, at the 4th Annual Psychiatric Conference, sponsored by St Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio.

In April, Dr. Nicely attended a conference entitled Aging Body Aging Mind, sponsored by the Medical University of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio.

In May, Dr. Nicely attended a meeting addressing attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

In May, Dr. nicely attended the meeting dealing with pharmacological interventions with ADHD

In June, Dr. Greene Bush completed independent study entitled Ethics and Risk Management in Forensic Settings, sponsored by the American Psychological Association,

In June, Dr. Nicely attended a conference feeling with Alternative and Behavioral Treatments for ADHD.

In November, Drs. Smitley, Nicely and Muehleisen attended a half-day conference by Glennen Karr, J.D. on the Top 10 Ethics Problems for Psychologists, sponsored by the Toledo Academy of Professional Psychology, Toledo, OH.

 


 
2004 News
  • In January, Drs. Reetz and Smitley attended a conference entitled Bi-polar: A New Slant on the Disorder presented by Dr. Jay Carter of the Cross Country University at the Medical College of Ohio.
  • In April, Dr. Reetz attended a workshop entitled Treating Children and Adolescents with Traumatic Loss by Dr. James Fogarty of the Cross Country University at the Medical College of Ohio.
  • In September, Drs. Muehleisen, Reetz and Smitley were reappointed as part-time faculty to the Bowling Green State University, Department of Psychology.
  • In October, Dr. Reetz attended a seminar dealing with treatment of difficult children titled Please Help Me With This Child by Vincenzo DiNicola at Bowling Green State University.
  • In October, Drs. Smitley and Reetz attended a 2 day symposium in Houston entitled Advanced Topics in MMPI-2 and MMPI-A Interpretation, sponsored by Kent State University.
  • In November, Dr. Muehleisen attended the 8th Annual Symposium in Psychiatry in Perrysburg, sponsored by Promedica Health Systems.
  • In November, Drs. Bruckner, Smitley and Muehleisen attended a presentation by Ohio Psychological Association Executive Director Dr. Ron Ross entitled Ohio Psychology Law, Rules and Ethical Standards, sponsored by the Toledo Area Academy of Professional Psychology.

 
2003 News
  • In January, Dr. Bruckner attended a workshop on the Legalities and Practicalities of Supervision.
  • In March, Joyce Walsh attended a workshop entitled "The Angry Client: Evaluation and Treatment" presented by Jennifer Alfonso, MSW, LISW.
  • In April, Dr. Bruckner attended a conference sponsored by the Ohio Psychological Association on the HIPAA privacy standards.
  • In May, Dr. Greene Bush participated as a panel member at the Spring Colloquium for graduate students in the Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University.
  • In June, Joyce Walsh and Dr. Smitley attended a presentation by psychologist author and lecturer James Fogarty, Ed.D. entitled "Treating Children and Adolescents with Traumatic Loss: Grief Blended with Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder."
  • Dr. Greene Bush co-authored an an article with A. McGrady, C, Kern-Buell, C., R. Devonshire, A. Clagget,  and B. Grubb, titled Biofeedback-Assisted Relaxation Therapy in Neurocardiogenic Syncope: A Pilot Study in the journal Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, 2003, 28, 183-192.  
  • In June, Dr. Nicely spoke on advocacy for mentally ill clients at the Annual Required Juvenile Court Seminar, sponsored by the Toledo Bar Association.
  • In July, Dr. Muehleisen attended a workshop on promoting hope, motivation, self-discipline, and resilience in angry and difficult children and adolescents, presented by Dr. Robert Brooks and sponsored by the New England Educational Institute.
  • In August, Joyce Walsh attended a conference on attachment and the Defiant Child, presented by Dr. Mack Beischel, Professor, Peru State College.
  • In August, Dr. Muehleisen attended a two day workshop on domestic abuse issues for mediators and other professionals sponsored by the Supreme Court of Ohio.
